Earth is the only planet we know of right now that supports life, but considering the scale of the universe it seems like there could exist others. The first stride in finding these Globe-like worlds is to detect planets orbiting nearby stars. That'southward what NASA's Kepler infinite telescope has been doing these by viii years. The project has had its ups and downs, but the final planetary itemize unveiled by astronomers during a recent meeting at the Ames Inquiry Heart signifies the final affiliate of Kepler. These exoplanets were detected by Kepler using what'due south known as the transit method. One assay presented alongside the new data sheds calorie-free on the style smaller planets form. The most common "small" planets come in ii sizes.
